What's New?
Wednesday, 6 August 2008
I was fooling around by putting maddox's site inside a hidden iframe to see what would happen (his reaction and the statistic rank on his website) and when I woke up I found out that my website turned into this. Funny.

Comming not so soon:
Update Youtubehack browser so you able search videos from various sites (currently support youtube only)
Shareable/portable/embedded/whatever Youtubehack Browser
Fix the code in order to meet the xhtml criteria

Sunday, 3 August 2008
Updated the browser to v1.1. New features:
- A button to stretch the video
- Fullscreen mode
- Maximize and minimize button to allow you search the video while still playing the video
- Changed the close button
- Mute button
- Cursor interaction
- Progress bar of the amount of loaded movie into your computer
Stretching and and entering fullscreen mode makes the video get laggy... well, at least so on my computer. I am a messy coder, so I guess I have to tidy and improve the codes in the future.
Meanwhile, I am not going to bother about this site for a while. I've spent too much time on it for the last couple of weeks.

Updated the browser to v1.01, which allows cross-domain policy and embedding.

What's new:
- Flash based youtubehack browser
- favicon.ico
- Fixed the changing permission code
- Found out that the server got full rapidly because the server flood the logs with error message. The access log and error log was 97 GB! 88 GB for the error log, and 9 GB for the access log. Wow... I've fixed that one to, so no worries!
- Update the javascript and css...(you might need to refresh the browser in order to feel the change). Thanks to the flash, no more silly iframe now (except for the ads).
The youtubehack browser is still new. Please give me some suggestion. If you encounter any error with it, let me know!

Surprise surprise... I'm back. Here are the changes:
- Totaly new system, codes, algorithm etc. It's background code, and you won't notice it anyway
- Fixed the logo
- Support youtube and dailymotion ONLY (this is for a while, I'm going to add more sites in the future)
- New bar indicator what does the server do while processing your request
- Faster, because it won't redownload or re-convert existing files.
This is still in "beta", so in case something doesn't work, let me know. The old system still can be accessed on here. If there's no error report whatsoever in 2 weeks, I will remove the old files.

I have no idea what happened, as I am at school when I am writing this. When I checked the site was down, and it was down for 45 minutes. Thank goodness I check the site periodically.

There's a good update on youtube: Now youtube supports higher video quality! And youtubehack might support it. So if you want to download higher video quality, simply add "&fmt=18" on the end of the video link. For example:

Instead of http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_SI_z5wAP5U, use http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_SI_z5wAP5U&fmt=18!

This is still experimental. It might not work in some cases!

Reinstalled and upgraded the operating system. Now the server won't crash anymore (hopefully)

Monday, 3 March 2008
I am not sure what happened. The server freezed when I got home, and it seems something went wrong with the connection when I was away.

Thursday, 21 February 2008
The ISP went down started from around 1 am GMT till 12 an GMT. It's hella long down time and something that I can't fix. Well, honestly, I host this website in my room. That's right, my room, my own server! The connection is pretty good here, that's why. But this experience gave me an idea to build multi-server from different location to handle the same problem, though most likely it won't work. Anyways, enjoy! I was surprised right after the ISP wnet up again, 3 visitors were on the site already.

Tuesday, 19 February 2008
Fixed the error. Now you can download the videos as MP3s or other video formats. The new code that I'm developing now will make sure that this is not going to happen again.

Monday, 18 February 2008
The site went down for about an hour because of my stupidity. I executed a script that deletes files, and it deleted the files that shouldn't be deleted.
Meanwhile, I'm in the middle of developing new codes for youtubehack.net so it runs better and more features (I'm also planning to publish the code to public).
Update:
Really terrible thing just happened in the same day! The ISP blocked my MAC Address.. funnily. But I got it work around, though this means lots of people can't access youtubehack.net for at least 1 week. For those who lives in Netherlands can adapt it quickly. This was caused by changing to new public IP address, which takes time to "advertise" the new IP address around the world.

Saturday, 20 October 2007
- Fixed on the bug that appear on new videos due to the code change made by Youtube.
- 3gp support (edit: Dang, doesn't work yet)

Tuesday, 7 August 2007
- Added Youtubehack Browser + Player! It's still in beta stage. If you encounter any bugs, please contact me.
- Known bugs: "Watch1" doesn't work on Internet Explorer 6 and lower. It works great on Firefox and Internet Explorer 7. Also, sometimes if you use "Watch1" some areas of the player are unclickable. So I suggest you to use "Watch2" instead. I am going to stop the development of this site for a while, because I want to start another project.

Thursday, 2 August 2007
- Huge change on the layout. I hope you like it
- New converter/downloader system, and new fresh database

Tuesday, 19 June 2007
- Sorry, the converter didn't work for 2 days (I guess), because the server's disk was full and I wasn't aware of that until today. That also affected the youtubehack player. My bad!!! I should've check the disk space often! But everything works fine now..

Thursday, 14 June 2007
- There are some changes on youtube. Im afraid they changed the api and all those sort of things that make to adjust my website to the new one...who knows. But accessing youtube gets faster now.

Monday, 11 June 2007
- I am so busy. Probably you want to check this out first: Youtubehack Player. It's far from finish, but I promise it will be great later.
- Credits: Jeroenwijering for the player, and Terri for the xml.

Sunday, 10 June 2007
- The server crashed a couple of times. It turns out caused by the dead old video card. I switched it back to onboard video for good.

Thursday, 7 June 2007
- Fixed the method of retrieving video id. That also fixed the thumbnail bug
- Fixed the bug that happen when you choose download as "Original FLV File". Sorry for that.
- Added support for adult content videos ;)
- Working on Youtubehack Player. It's almost done.

Monday, 4 June 2007
- Tidied up the messy code, created classes and templates for easier modification in the future
